Hey folks,
I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Ian Davidson at
Davenport. Boy, was he bummed out that his KJ had blown a
cylinder en route. We sat at the same table during the AMCA
banquet. Many of you don't go to the banquets, but breaking
bread with a fellow KJ owner is almost the same fun as
riding a KJ next to a fellow KJ owner.
I rode a ways with Ian at Oley last year, with Steve
Ciccalone on his original paint KJ at the Empire Chapter
Road Run the year before (we did a lap at Watkins Glen
together - oh, way cool), and with Steve Lippoldt down
around the Maryland-Pennsylvania border.
I also got to talk with Carl Vandre and gaze upon his newest
creation - the Henderson V8!
I've had some memorable rides - Doc Patt's Indian Torque
Four, Jimmy Wray's ACE, Doug Strange's ACE, Ace Elliot's
2-engine Harley Hummer, BUT ---
There's no experience in this world comparable to riding
your KJ next to another one.
See you at AMCA White Rose this October?
Dave
