(Mr. Strange... I just recently came across the write-up on your 1991 interview/taping with Mr. Stephan whom worked at the Ace factory... Absolutely incredible information. What a treat to read!)

I just looked at my 1923 Charlie Cole Ace and its frame number
is 0102. The Ace I purchased in Wales has no stamping on the
frame. I believe that one is 1920.

Yes I wondered about that 8### frame number.
The few fairly original aces seen hereabouts seem to have the
year as the first number.
No factory rebuilt engines to confuse things. (?).
