Indeed, The Excelsior factory was engaged in making these
engines during the war as well as at least a cursory test run
on one of the upper floors of the factory. I have a few
pictures of the engine manufacturing process and testing
facility. I'll post them for you. Pretty interesting stuff!

Anyone know anything of Excelsior of Chicago manufacturing the
Lawrance flat twin aircraft trainer engine during late WW1 ?

Apparently something like 300 of them were contracted to be
built, for the Penguin Trainer.
