I've had a lot of response to this and should clarify it is taken from a 1909 copy
of M.I. so pre Henderson . The author refers to punching down to flood the carb
but this is NOT on the needle valve but on what is generally called the "tickler"
not present on all old float bowls. The point of interest which may transcribe to
Hen carbs is the interference between the toggles and the float, a problem that
Mark Hill described to me .
