Hi Rick, It would appear that is an early 1925 engine. The suffix letter A on the
engine number indicates that the motor left the factory with alloy pistons fitted.
When the factory started fitting alloy pistons as an option they needed an easy
way to identify which engines had them fitted. My 1926 engine was originally
fitted with cast iron pistons and has the suffix letter C. I hope this helps
you.........Nick.
Thanks Nick, I appreciate your time and experience, Cheers, Rick Morrison
