when I installed my kj crank i was adviced to safety wire the nuts . cotter pinning the nuts only stops the nut from turning on the stud , but does not stop the stud from turning in the case . ----- ORIGINAL MESSAGE FOLLOWS ----- I now have the crank installed in the deluxe but have been advised using the original studs and nuts with cotter pins is not the best way to go . I have also been told loctitie on the studs is advisable. so now I am looking for a source for the 12 point (arp?) nuts and studs . all the automotive supply places around here do not have a clue. on line one can buy head stud and nut kits for various auto engines ( cylinder heads) and i am wondering if any would have the same size as the Hen requires. |
