Barry good hearing your story about your Indian 4
it's a lot better than the story about my 29 KJ .
I had the Indian 4 rebuilder in California,
who advertises in the AMCA mag,
do some work on my engine . New pistons, rings ,
ex. valves , rod bearings , clutch , and slider gear.
At about 250 miles it started smoking more than it had
earlier . I checked the oil level and found it low and
and added enough to fill . From 280 miles to 330 miles
It used 16 oz of oil and another 16 oz from 330 to 380
miles . 1 qt in a 100 miles . I pulled the eng. removed
the cylinders and pan . The cylinders and pistons were scored , the rings were worn down to were they had from
100 to 145 thou. end gap . The pan has a layer of sludge
loaded with iron material . So now i'm starting all over again .

So guys get referrals from satisfied people like Barry
before having work done on your prize machines . Ed
