Hi Luke I use a high nickle cast iron tig rod for broken fins and manifold mounting ears and any other cast iron repair projects that show up at my shop. The stuff I use is machinable. I used to use silicon bronze (everdure) rod before. It isn't as good but also works. I find tig with a remote peddle much easier to control the heat. I usually warm up the area with a tourch first and let it cool slowly afterwords. ----- ORIGINAL MESSAGE FOLLOWS ----- Has anyone had experience repairing chipped cast Henderson cylinder fins? Any repair idea's appreciated. Thanks Luke |
