Survey questions:

1) How many complete* KJs are there?

2) How many complete* DeLuxes are there?

3) How many complete* Early Hens are there?

*Complete = running, or could be running with reasonable time/money. Excludes hopeless piles of parts.

If you've been saving those broken engine cases or other folded, stapled or mutilated Hen parts, DON'T DESPAIR!

Dick Merritt, who lives near me, was collecting Ferrari parts. He happened on another guy who wanted to get rid of a "hopeless" engine - "you haul it out of my garage and it's yours". The engine had had straight water in it, froze during the winter, and cracked the block in a number of places. The owner proceeded to drive it until it overheated, warped the head, etc. Hopeless.

Dick hauled it home - hey, the price was right - and it sat in a corner of his garage. A few years later, a collector contacted him about the engine. It turned out that there were only 4 of these Ferraris in the world, and the collector _really_ needed an engine.

Dick sold the "hopeless" engine for $250,000. Those were 1980's dollars - adjust that for inflation!

Hendersons are the Ferraris of motorcycles...
